Coronavirus

During these unprecedented times of Coronavirus, here at GBSN we have adapted so that we can continue to offer face to face support for your breastfeeding journey:

Mums and Mums-to-be can book virtual face-to-face time with one of our Breastfeeding Specialist Workers. These are free of charge and can be booked here. We have supported over 450 mums so far and we intend to keep running these support sessions alongside our groups.

We have started to meet up outdoors. Follow our GBSN facebook page and your local GBSN group. As groups are weather dependent, confirmation of running will be announced after 9am on the morning. Please bring a blanket/chair so that you can set up your socially distanced space. These groups are for ongoing and social support so please book a virtual face to face session if you’d like close up support. Mums-to-be are welcome too!

We continue our popular “Preparation for Breastfeeding” virtual workshops for expectant mothers and their support partners. More information here. We are delighted to announce that we have some funding to be able to offer these workshops FREE for a limited time. More dates will be released soon.

Our Breastfeeding Specialist Workers are all self-employed and we continue to pay them on an “hours worked” basis.  We will actually spend more on consultant time than usual, helping our much-loved professionals (remove *experts) to maintain their income during these difficult times. Although, just like our usual face-to-face groups, our virtual support is FREE, we are now losing on income as we usually collect donations at groups.  If you are able to donate to help GBSN keep going, we would be more grateful now than ever before.

Thank you for your continuing support as we do our best to continue to provide free breastfeeding support to the amazing women of Gloucestershire.
